  • A gigabites is a specific unit of  data that's equal to about 1 billion bites of data.
  • The term gigabites is typically used to describe the amount of stored data or the capacity of  a storage device.

  • The megabites is a multiple of the unit byte for digital information.
  • Its recommended unit symbol is MB. 
  • The unit prefix mega is a multiplier of 1000000 (106) in the international System of units (SI).
  • Therefore , one megabites is one million bites of information.
